2010 Ford Escape has hit the market with its latest features. It is essentially a compacted SUV capable of hauling 5-persons with 4 doors having a liftgate with a glass opening. It has a powered V6 engine that has an amazing acceleration power and gives great visibility. This wagon has an ample room for carrying passengers and even luggage quite comfortably. The pitfall is its noisy engine that is amplified with the noise of wind. Moreover, the materials used in its manufacturing are not too good.

The design of 2010 Ford Escape is similar to the Mazda Tribute and Mercury Mariner. It is available in XLT, XLS and other limited versions with either AWD or front-wheel drive option. All of these versions have a standard 2.5 liter capacity with engine of 4-cylinder generating 171horsepower. A 3.0 liter capacity feature coupled with V6 engine generating 240-horsepower is optional in both Limited and XLT models. A manual transmission of 5-speed is a standard in XLS front-wheel drive, but it is also available in automatic 6-speed being standard transmission in rest of the cars.

The Limited and basic editions are offered back with the Hybrid ones. It has a 2.5 liter capacity with gas engine of 4 cylinders producing 153-horsepower running with an electric motor. It has CVT- continuously variable transmission that acts similar to the automatic and needs no plug-in to get powered. The hauling power of 4 cylinders is 1,500 pounds at most, where as V6 versions can haul 3,500 pounds.

The safety features in 2010 Ford Escape are antiskid system, traction control, ABS, airbags for front-side and curtain-side, front seats with heat option, leather seats, navigation system, rear-barrier alert, synchronized voice-activated system for MP3 players and mobiles and latest rearview camera. MyKey feature permits to feed the instructions to limit the sedan’s high speed and volume of the audio into the key. The Active Park Assist feature automatically assists you to park the car in parallel with other cars.

The vehicles are ranked in 18 categories by Consumer Guide Automotive based on their market grade, cost and size. The compacted SUVs are basically less expensive and more fuel efficient than the rest. They are not hardwearing or for off-road drive and are similar in design as that of car’s carcass. Mostly are meant for 5 people and some for 7.

The top ranked cars in the market are Volkswagen Tiguan and Honda CR-V. Other recommended cars are Grand Vitara, Mercury Mariner, Ford Escape, Subaru Forester, Suzuki, Toyota RAV4 and Mazda Tribute. The newest or the extensively reshaped models include Mitsubishi Outlander, Hyundai Tucson and Honda CR-V.
