You have to be either high on something, or maybe simply stupid to think about a challenge between an M3 and a GT at a racetrack.

It sounds like such statement would deserve more scorn than couldthere isfor a whole week in a Judge Judy marathon. That’s right.

This Motown vs. Munich measure up has never been attempted before. No onethought about it because it simply didn’t make much sense. Of course, the BMWis V-8 since 2008; however, that’s not the idea. Truth be told, the Mustang GT has never been good enough to confront Bavaria’s best. That is at least not until now.

You have the right to doubt it, but verify the specs. In 2011, the two four-seat, rear-drive coupes use V-8 engines totally made of aluminum with double-overhead attached cams tickling 32 valves. Mustang’s fresh 5.0 liter V-8 makes 412 ponies at 6500 revolutions per minuteplus 390 lbs-ft at 4250 revolutions/minute. On the other hand, the 4.0 liter carryover of the M3reaches 414 HP at 8300 revolutions per minute and 295 lbs-ft torque at 3900 revolutions per minute. Nevertheless, the most gripping ratio is 0.2, which is the difference in the power-to-weight fraction between the two cars. The GT carries 8.8 lbs.for each pony while the M3 carries 8.6. Also, when tested, the 5.0 is always equal to or better than the BMW in every single measured performance category. Both cars reach 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds, save for the Mustang which is quicker to a1/4 mile by a 1/10 of a second with 0.7 mph-12.7 seconds with 111.6 mph. In addition, it stops 2ft.less than 60 miles per hour, which is a tie, and the Mustangactuallydiminishes the M myth. America’s original pony car outgrips one of Germany’s top sports automobile to the tune 0.2 second by 0.01 g lateral acceleration.

People claim that M3 is a better driving car.Think about the renowned BMW steering experience, cornering quickness, and celebrated suspension tuning.Of course the Mustang’s old-fashionedrear axle is okay in general. On the other hand, M3 is alwaysspeedier where it is most important: against the clock, on a racetrack. Hold onto your doubts, because we will discover right away.
