2011 Volvo S60 1.6 GTDi

Volvo Cars announced a new variant of the 2011 S60 sedan, and its estate version V60, powered by a brand new and very efficienct 1.6 liter GTDi petrol engine.

This four-cylinder unit features the very latest direct injection technology. The GTDi (Gasoline Turbocharged Direct Injection) concept was developed to offer improved fuel consumption without compromising on performance.

It is available in two T3 anf T4 formats. The 1.6 GTDi T3 features 150 PS while the T4 offers 180 PS and both will be available in the all-new Volvo S60 and V60 in late 2010. The 180 PS T4 engine delivers maximum torque of 240 Nm while there’s an automatic on-demand overboost function that boosts it to 270 Nm.

The 1.6 GTDi T3 and T4 engines are available with a six speed manual gearbox, whilst Volvo’s automatic six-speed Powershift transmission is an option on the T4.
