Caterham SP/300.R Customer Invitation

Caterham is calling on the SP/300.R already paid customers, and the prospective ones, to gather at the Rockingham Motor Speedway on March 1st to have their first drive in the amazing new sports car.

The SP/300 is Caterham’s latest addition to the range, which until now only consisted of the Seven. It is not a road car though. It’s more of a track toy for those who love pure driving experience of a full-blooded race car. That explains why Caterham F1 driver, Heikki Kovalainen, gave it a shakedown in Jerez, Spain, during a pre-season Formula 1 test. There will be a one-make racing series later this year just for the owners of this car.

Bearing subtle design cues from the Seven, Caterham’s new car replicates the Company’s core motorsport values of affordability, reliability and accessibility.

Kovalainen, said: “The SPR is very quick and a little like a formula car in that I could feel the downforce working and giving it lots of grip and balance. It was great fun to be able to give it a blast in Jerez and I look forward to testing Caterham’s road and race cars more often.”

Simon Lambert, Caterham Motorsport Manager, said: “We can’t wait to see how our customers react to the SP/300.R, it’s a real thrill to drive and very engaging so we know they’ll love it.

“These coming weeks are the culmination of a massive effort from a big team of people and we are very close to achieving our objective, so it’s very exciting for everybody involved. Over the coming months, there will be numerous opportunities for people to experience the SP/300.R.”
