Chevrolet Aveo Safest Supermini in 2011

EuroNCAp announced that among all the supermini models hey tested din 2011, the Chevrolet Sonic (Aveo) was the safest of them all. The new Aveo has taken the 2011 ‘best in class’ award in the competitive Supermini market, as judged by Euro NCAP, in their annual ‘class leader’ announcement.

Tested by stringent and rigorous Euro NCAP standards, the new Chevrolet Aveo secured 85 out of a possible 100 points, placing it at the very top of its segment. Judges were impressed by the key areas of adult and child occupant protection, where it scored 95 and 87 percent respectively, and its extensive array of safety features.

That would be a huge feather in Aveo’s cap, as it’s a family car and the first thing families look into while buying a new car is safety Well done then Chevy.

The Aveo is equipped with six standard airbags that are connected to the sensors mounted into the middle of the car. It also features a child-seat latching system. The car’s active safety systems include electronic stability control, traction control, a four-channel anti-lock braking system with brake assist, and electronic brake force distribution. Hill-start assist and cruise control with a speed limiter function are also among the Aveo’s impressive standard features.

Alongside the new Aveo, Chevrolet’s model line-up features four more Euro NCAP five star cars; the Cruze, Captiva and Orlando all carry the accolade. In addition, 2011 was the first year electric vehicles were crash tested and rated on safety. The Chevrolet Volt proved that safety is not compromised in electric vehicles by bringing home another five star rating.
