Chevrolet Cruze Eco Fuel Consumption

Official fuel consumption figures for the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze Eco, powered by a 1.4 liter turbo engine with 138 horsepower (103 kW) and 148 lb.-ft. of torque (200 Nm).

The car achieves 42 mpg highway and 28 mpg city, which is not very hybrid-like (in comparison with Prius and cars like that – it beats the hybrid sedans like Camry and Altima), but at the same time it’s better than most hybrid when you take the price into account.

The Cruze Eco starts from $18,895, which is considerably less than what you have to pay for the cheapest hybrid, so all in all it’s better value, plus you drive a normal car and won’t be marked as a green pea environmentalist!

“Chevrolet Cruze continues to redefine the compact segment, offering class-leading standard safety features, upscale amenities – as well as hybrid-like fuel economy without the price,” said Chuck Russell, vehicle line director. “The Cruze Eco is in a league of its own and will challenge perceptions of the efficiency available in a more affordable non-hybrid.”
