This article explains about the tuning of VW Lupo 3L TDI model. Volkswagen worked hard to produce the world’s first 3 L car. The 3L refers not to engine size but to the fact that it is designed to use just three liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. No production car in the USA gets close. The three-liter formula is a long-standing environmentalist’s challenge that VW is first to answer after nine years of work. This car looks very tall and the width looks pretty extensive. It generally gives a feminine look and plain all over. The first engine with the cylinder head is the 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine below the hood. For suppressing the vibrations, a balancing shaft is used which results in extremely smooth engine performance. A pump induces high-pressure unit injector elements that inoculate. The higher pressure results in a more capable burn with increased performance and economy. The total weight of e Lupo model is 1882 lbs. Lupo 3L TDI has a highest speed of 165 km/h and an acceleration pickup from 0 – 100 km/h within 14.5 seconds. Lower fuel consumption is one of the main demerits which make problems in winter. For provision of sufficient heating, fuel is not burned for the commuter compartment but an option of electric heater is available for this purpose. R32 and Audi TT3.2 are equipped with latest direct shift gearbox, it has a different programming and one less gear and has a double clutch electronically controlled. However, it is more like a manual gearbox with no clutch pedal. The engine can be started with the brake pedal down and in situation ‘E’, the car moves when the accelerator is down, the driver has options of selecting between the automatic mode and economy with the use of switch. All of the external body parts are not like the standard Lupo concerning the material and other elements used for making external covering. The engine bonnet and gas-filled struts are weight optimized as they are made of aluminum. Other parts like drive shafts, springs, pedals, brake servo and steering are weight optimized. Besides this, the thinner thermal tinted glass window is also weight optimized. Alloy wheels are attractive and heavy. The rear drum brakes are also made of aluminum. This gives better speed, pickup and fuel consumption. For the improvement, the suspension systems, torsion beam trailing arm axle at rear and walk at front have been made larger. There is a damper support at the front, the brake calipers and the engine sub frame are made of Aluminum. The rear axle while trailing arms are made of steel. The base model does not include Coil springs and dampers and the latter in Aluminum, this gives more span in the interior hatch space.
