How to Derim a Motorcycle Tire

  • Valve core tool
  • Pair of wooden blocks (2×4)
  • Bead breaker tool
  • Spray bottle filled with soapy water
  • Allen head sockets
  • Rim protector
  • Socket wrench

Step 1:

Begin with taking the brake rotor(s) out from the wheel.

Step 2:

Let down the tire by taking the valve stem core away. At this moment, try to avoid loosening the core until unless you are going to replace it otherwise discarding the rim.

Step 3:

Next make use of the bread breaker tool to break the bead, or else the seal you will find there between the tire and wheel.

Step 4:

Now put the wheel on its side, and use the wooden blocks to hold it.

Step 5:

Spray the tire through soapy water in order to let the tire slip off of the rim. Pay more attention while spraying the region where the tire meets the rim.

Step 6:

Now press the entire side of the tire to loosen it and don’t forget to put in your rim protectors at the 11 and 12 o’clock positions.
