Hyundai i40 EuroNCAP Rating

The new Hyundai i40 has been designed and developed in Europe, for Europe. So one of the things they’ve been working on from the beginning was safety, a kind of it to achieve max score in Euro NCAP tests.

And they did it perfectly with best in class scores. The car has been awarded the maximum five-star safety rating by independent vehicle assessment organisation, Euro NCAP.  The results of the rigorous test process mark out the i40 as one of the safest vehicles in the D-segment.

The i40 is the fifth consecutive Hyundai model to achieve the maximum five-star score in Euro NCAP’s rigorous assessment program, following on from the top ratings achieved by the i20 supermini, ix20 compact MPV, i30 hatchback and ix35 compact SUV.

Check out the i40’s scores the i40 achieved in the official passage below:

The D-segment i40 received a rating of 92% in the ‘adult occupant’ category, registering maximum points in the side barrier test.  Furthermore, the head restraint and seat were praised for providing good protection against whiplash injuries in the event of a rear-end collision.

In the ‘child occupant’ category, the i40 attained an impressive score of 86%, performing well in both the ’18-month-old’ and ‘3-year-old’ child categories.  The i40 registered 43% in the ‘pedestrian’ category, with the front bumper scoring maximum points for the good protection offered to pedestrians’ legs.

Electronic stability program, speed limitation assistance and a seatbelt reminder system contributed to the car’s score of 86% in the ‘safety assist’ category.  The passive and active safety systems offered with i40 exceed Euro NCAP’s 2011 requirements.

Allan Rushforth, Senior Vice President and COO of Hyundai Motor Europe, commented, “The five-star rating for i40 further demonstrates our commitment to the highest levels of safety for Hyundai customers.  It’s another reason for private and fleet buyers in the D-segment to consider the i40, with safety, first-class quality, efficiency and generous specification among the car’s impressive list of attributes.  Our Five Year Triple Care customer assurance package, makes the i40 even harder to ignore.”

Hyundai’s comprehensive Five Year Triple Care assurance package provides European consumers with the ultimate peace of mind, comprising a five-year unlimited warranty, five years’ roadside assistance, and five years of vehicle health checks.
