Kia Picanto City
Kia announced launch of a new special edition Picanto city car in the UK. It is actually called the Picanto City, and it gets extra bells and whistles than the normal models. The car is part of the Originals collection.
This attractive new ‘Original’ is packed full of functional but fashionable features not normally associated with cars in this price range, offering assured practicality with just a hint of glamour. ‘Originals’ models stem from the idea of a fashion collection – being frequently updated with distinct styles and personalities. That sounds right in tune with the time for British customer.
The car is priced at £10,245, and also is covered by Kia’s pioneering seven-year warranty and owners can cover the first three services of the car with Kia’s Care-3 service package for just £269.
Details in Kia’s press release below:
The Picanto ‘City’ flaunts an exciting exterior look, with features including the signature red grille, 14-inch alloy wheels, chrome door handles, heated door mirrors and front fog lights. Metallic paint is a standard feature and the model is available in Blaze Red or Bright Silver, so you can arrive in the city with style. Its high specification includes reversing sensors, which make parking in those tight city centre spaces convenient and effortless.
The interior boasts air conditioning, premium cloth upholstery, ample storage for personal items and a leather trimmed steering wheel with audio controls and iPod connectivity. Features unique to the ‘City’ include ambient LED lighting and a “Hollywood” style vanity mirror with three-stage illumination sequence. Bluetooth connectivity allows the driver to make hands-free calls via voice recognition and stream music wirelessly.
Powered by the low-emitting three-cylinder Kappa 1.0 MPI engine, with a five-speed manual gearbox, the ‘City’ produces just 99g/km of CO2 and delivers 67.3 mpg on the combined cycle, making it exempt from road tax and the London Congestion Charge. Picanto ‘City’ is in insurance group four, helping owners further to keep costs down.
Comprehensive safety features include Electronic Stability Control, Vehicle Stability Management and Hill-start Assist Control. Significantly, ‘City’ is fitted with Cornering Brake Control, which is a first in the Picanto range. Like all Picanto models, the ‘City’ is extremely safe with six airbags and five three-point seatbelts all round, making it one of the few five-seaters in its class.
