New Ford C-Max Unveiled

Ford will be presenting the new generation of the C-Max minivan at the 2011 Detroit autoshow.
The 2012 model will feature whole new look based on Ford’s Kinetic design language. It is designed to look more like a regular car such as Fiesta or Focus rather than a van, and for that reason it’s not boring!
Going on sale in America next year, the new Ford C-Max features all regular minivan equipments like 5+2 seating configuration and sliding rear doors, but it has a party piece which is automatic tailgate system.

This hands-free power-operated rear liftgate has sensors under the rear bumper which responds to the driver’s leg motion and will open the tailgate, providing he or she is carrying the key fob.
2012 C-Max can be had with a new 1.6-liter Ford EcoBoost engine that combines high-pressure direct injection, low-inertia turbocharging and twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT), or the 2.5-liter iVCT I-4, optimized for small crossover application with plenty of low-end torque.

The Ford C-MAX provides a raised “command bridge” cockpit with high-mounted gear shift and center console. The driver controls and displays incorporate available Ford SYNC and MyFord Touch, similar to the acclaimed layouts recently introduced in other Ford nameplates.
