Peugeot 308 GTi Unveiled

Peugeot today revealed the first pictures and details of their latest GTi hot hatchback based on the four-door 308.

This new 308 GTi stays loyal to the GTi philosophy, so it’s light and responsive and clever and yet remains practical and comfi for everyday use .

The engine that powers the 308 GTi will be used also in the upcoming RCZ coupe, and it’s very very advanced. This 1,600cc turbocharged powerplant features THP or Twin Scroll Turbochargers, as well as direct petrol injection and variable valve lift and valve timing.


So it’s capable of delivering 200 bhp and 270 Nm of torque which is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and is quite efficient at only 6.9 liter per 100 km, with Co2 emissions of 159 g/km.


The GTi also gets a number exterior and interior features such as front and rear spoilers, rear diffuser and twin chrome exhaust pipes and some GTi badges, aluminium foot rest and gear knob, leather sport steering wheel and …


It also comes with tweaked suspension, more precise steering, bigger brakes and 18-inch wheels fro better grip and handling. A number of electronic driving aids are also there to help you get the best of the car, including ESP, dynamic stability control (CDS), electronic brake force distribution (EBFD) and emergency brake assist (EBA) and ASR (traction control).
