Peugeot iOn Electric Wins Green Steering Wheel

The Green Steering Wheel award is the environmentally-focused equivalent of the Golden Steering Wheel which the German press organization awards to the best cars in terms of design and performance.

This year it’s Peugeot iOn electric car, which is basically a Mitsubishi i-MiEV, that won the award as it was chosen over twenty other low emission vehicles.

The shortlist for the Green Steering Wheel award is compiled with votes from readers of Auto Bild, sister magazine to the UK’s Auto Express, and Bild am Sonntag, the Sunday edition of the best-selling newspaper in Europe. Readers chose vehicles, concepts and technologies that stand out for their potential to reduce the car’s environmental footprint.
