Reminiscing about good old days, Porsche developed a new modern-day Speedster paying homage to the legendary 356 Speedster.
The 2011 model is based on the Porsche 911, and comes with features derived from other 911 models. The rear-end comes from the Carrera 4, Fuchs wheels come form the Sport classic, and the 408 hp race tuned engine comes from the new GTS.
But those bits have come together to create a wonderful car. That’s why it’s more expensive than all other variants at 144,000 GBP.

The car’s most distinctive feature are those characteristic ‘double-bubble’ hardcover for the manual soft top, but it also get a new front spoiler and 60mm lowered and raked windscreen to go with the whole Speedster vibe.

Then engine as mentioned is a 3.8-litre flat six, that has been tuned to deliver 408 hp (300 kW), 23 hp more than in the 911 Carrera S. It comes with seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) gearbox and a limited slip differential as standard and also benefits from Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB).
The car will debut at 2010 Paris Motor Show and will go on sale in a couple of months.
