Vauxhall Carwalk

Vauxhall is probably running out of normal ideas to promote their cars so they’re going berserk!

The latest publicity trick they’re working on is something called the Carwalk. That is a car catwalk, except the cars are not the models but the base for the stage!

In this advertising program a mobile catwalk stage visits streets of London and entertain fashion lovers with a full on show. This catwalk is 20 meters long and is built on the roof of three Vauxhall Corsa cars! There must have be an easier way of advertising. Come of think of it though it works for London since it is a very fashion aware city.

Press Release:

London witnessed its most unusual fashion show this morning as top models strutted their stuff on the world’s first car catwalk.

A 20 metre long catwalk was constructed across the roofs of three Vauxhall Corsa cars to mark the tenth season of Vauxhall Fashion Scout, a showcase for the best up-and-coming fashion designers, at London Fashion Week.

The models, who normally perform on perfectly polished catwalks, spent a week learning to sashay at a height of over 1.5 metres ahead of the carefully choreographed three hour show.

Vauxhall Fashion Scout has become an established fixture during London Fashion Week with a reputation of unearthing some of the best British fashion designers including William Tempest, Prophetik and Bodyamr who have gone on to dress Cheryl Cole, Emma Watson and Daisy Lowe respectively.

Wendy Towler from Vauxhall Motors commented:

“What better way to highlight our long-running commitment to emerging British fashion than by creating the world’s first carwalk and giving young designers a unique platform to showcase their talents.”

Vauxhall Fashion Scout

Vauxhall Fashion Scout is an independent fashion showcase at London Fashion Week, which gives lesser known designers the chance to have their own catwalk show, presentation or exhibition over the six days of London Fashion Week.  Vauxhall Fashion Scout will be showcasing the latest in fashion innovation in Freemasons Hall, London between 18th and 23rd.

Vauxhall Corsa

Vauxhall’s new Corsa, sporting its fresh new face, trims and colours is in showrooms now. The Corsa is Vauxhall’s second best-selling model after the Astra, and a near-permanent fixture in the UK’s top-three best sellers’ list.  The new Corsa features a signature chrome bar, carrying the new Griffin badge, stretching across the front grille, while a re-styled front bumper with a more prominent, wider lower grille gives the Corsa a ‘smiling’ appearance. There are five new exterior colours in the range. Lime Green pearlescent, Chilli Orange metallic, Guacamole. Sunny Melon and Pepperdust metallic. The new Corsa range starts at £9995.
