British customers are still waiting for May to get their hands on the new Volkswagen Amarok, a new pickup truck which introduced a no-compromise alternative with great capabilities and fuel efficiency to this segment. Volkswagen now released the final specs of the Amarok so you can review its facts and figures once again to make sure this is the kinda pickup you need. The Amarok has the lowest CO2 emissions in the sector, Offers decent performance (well, it’s not a Raptor but it’s capable for its size and weight!) and great fuel economy Thanks to the frugal diesel engines Volkswagen offers for it. Every Amarok with the selectable 4MOTION transmission has a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 3,170 kg with unladen weights (ULW) ranging from 2,051 kg to 2,106 kg, and payloads between 1,064 kg to 1,119 kg.  Highline 4MOTION permanent models are lighter, with a GVW of 2,820 kg, ULW of 2,070 kg, and a reduced payload of 750 kg. Here’s more details on the car’s CO2 emissions, fuel economy, performance, and detailed specs of all models offered: Volkswagen is proud to be the first to introduce a more efficient, 2.0-litre diesel engine to the pick-up market.  The Amarok’s common rail diesel units bring new levels of refinement to the sector, and the technical specifications prove it is more efficient, yet just as powerful, as rivals that use larger capacity units. The Amarok has the lowest CO2 emissions in the sector and is the first pick-up to break the 200 g/km threshold.  The 2.0-litre TDI 122PS engine available in Startline specification, produces 199g/km, while the 163 PS Bi-turbo models has a CO2 emissions figure of 209 g/km.  All models are fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox. Performance is equally impressive.  With 340 Nm of torque from just 1,750 rpm, the 122 PS engine can achieve 0-62 mph in 13.7 seconds, while the 163 PS unit delivers 400 Nm from 1,750 rpm and reaches 62 mph from a standstill in 11.1 seconds.  This pulling power is matched by a maximum towing weight of up to 2,800 kg for the Amarok Highline with permanent 4MOTION, or 2,690 kg for models with selectable 4MOTION. The Amarok also boasts class-leading fuel economy with the more powerful 163 PS models achieving 35.8 mpg on the combined cycle, while the 122 PS model returns a combined 37.2 mpg which, with the 80 litre fuel tank, gives the Amarok a theoretical range of more than 650 miles. Technical specifications follow.
