2005 Honda Civic Radio Removal

It is quite simple and easy to remove the radio of your Honda Civic 2005 model. Just you have to follow some precautions and steps and you would do it straightforwardly.

The things you will require to carry out this task include:

  • A standard socket wrench set
  • A pair of pliers (for radio removal)

To begin you first have to unhook the negative battery cable to avoid shocks while dealing with electrical wiring. In case if you are going to reinstall the same radio then obtain your radio security code This code is obviously important particularly in case when you disconnect the battery, radio will be locked and this code will let you enable to unlock the radio. You can find this code by checking your glove box for the security card. If you don’t have this card, then get in touch with your dealer to reset the code.

Removing the Radio:

Now pull out the trim panel underneath the radio. This panel has the cigarette lighter or else power outlet. You will find there just clips attached to the panel, as it does not have screws. Next, grab the sides and resolutely pull it to take out it. Once you have done with the panel detaching, now unhook the connection from the cigarette lighter otherwise power outlet.

Socket wrench will let you remove the bolt from at the back the trim panel. Check to see if there is any bolt in the cavity.
To get better hold of your panel, open radio trim panel storage compartment. Now pull the entire radio panel out together with the upper air vents and A/C controls). Disconnect the connection module from the A/C controls. Do away with antenna cable and cut off the radio wiring harness to take apart the entire panel from the dashboard.
After that, turn over the panel to remove the radio from panel. Take out the two screws that hook up the radio to the trim panel. Once all screws are removed, you can easily remove the radio.
