VW finally revealed the face of the highly anticipated Polo sedan yesterday in Russia. They say that the four-door Polo saloon is specifically designed for the Russian market, but we have already seen test mules of this car in Europe and America, so it wouldn’t remain that exclusive for long!

The car is pretty unsurprising! It is exactly what you expect it to be, a Polo with its familiar proportions, but with a boot where your luggage go.

And that’s because it belongs to the economy class. It only comes with the very basic features you need, so they can keep the pricing low. The car’s being built at Volkswagen AG’s plant in Kaluga, Russia and sports a price tag of 10,000 Euros.

The power comes from an efficient 1.6 liter petrol engine with 105 PS, which can be had with either a 5-gear manual gearbox or a 6-gear automatic gearbox with sequential shift function (Tiptronic).

The Trendline basic version comes with two airbags, head rests and three-point seat belts for all five passengers. From Comfortline and up, the Polo is equipped with ABS as standard. In the Highline top version, additional safety systems are integrated that are normally unavailable in this class—for instance: side air-bags and ESP.
