Bentley released images and details of the new 2011 Continental GT model and if you were expecting big changes, you are going to be a bit disappointed.

Indeed the car has changed, but not drastically. It’s more of a subtle facelift, but it does give the car a fresh look with those new headlights, revised bumpers, new trunk lid with integrated spoiler, and exhaust tips, as well as new design for the taillights.

All in all, it is an acceptable upgrade and will keep the car in the game for a few more years. After all the CGT has a rather timeless design.

Apart from the looks, the car is also upgraded under the bonnet. You still get the same W12 6.0 liter engine, but it’s tweaked even further to deliver 575 hp and 516 pound-feet of torque, which results in a 0 to 60 time of around 4 seconds and top speed in excess of 190 mph.

So the Bentley CGT is still one fast castle on wheels! It’s also very sublime thanks to its six-speed automatic gearbox and AWD system.

By the end of 2011 though, the company will be offering a new 4.0 liter V8 engine as well. It’s for the firs time that this model gets a V8 and that’s because they have to lower its overall CO2 level. So the new engine will be 40 percent more efficient and cleaner than the W12.

But it’s not going to be an entry-level, as it will offer the same sort of speed output as the W12 and the same level of comfort and luxury.
