Chevrolet Impala Recall Details

General Motors announced a massive recall of 2009 and 2010 Chevrolet Impala models in America and Canada due to an problem with the safety belt anchors.

Nearly 400,000 units of this car are involved in the recall, even though GM says that only a few of them are actually affected.

Based on the report, in the affected cars the front seat belt webbing may not have been properly secured to the lap belt anchor pretensioner mounted to the side of the seat nearest the door.

GM will start notifying owners by the end of this month via mail. Dealer will inspect the cars and will replace the parts if needed free of charge.
