In 2011 Honda will add a new variant to the lineup of its popular city hatchback, the Jazz.

No, it’s not a Type-R or any other form of hot hatchaback, it’s a hybrid variant. It will join the other hybrid models like Civic and Accord to further reduce the overall CO2 emissions of the brand.

The powertrain they use for the Jazz Hybrid is the same as the Insight hybrid which is a 1.3-litre i-VTEC engine and an electric motor mated to a CVT gearbox for maximum efficiency.

The Jazz Hybrid also looks different than the normal models. It looks very hybridish as it gets revised headlights with a blue surround, clear rear lights, new front grille, restyled bumpers and a chrome tailgate garnish. The new hybrid will also be available in a range of existing colours plus a bespoke Lime Green metallic.

More details to come as the car goes on display at 2010 Paris Motor Show.
