In the majority cases, ABS brakes in a Jetta are self-adjusting. Although to do it correctly you need to read a manual explaining how to adjust ABS brakes in a Jetta. For this adjustment, brake pad material of your vehicle has to be accurately bed into the brake rotor surface but if it is not, then brake pad material may bite off into the rotor surface, or cause rotor to become bumpy due to hot spots developed on its surface.

Step 1:

You have to begin by taking out your Jetta to an open road with speed equal to 40 miles per hour.

Step 2:

Now push the brakes slowly until the Jetta gets up to 10 miles per hour and don’t stop at all.

Step 3:

Again speed up your Jetta up to 40 miles per hour and then slow down it to 10 miles per hour.

Do this step again and again until you ensure that you did not stop between all braking cycles.

Step 4:

Finally park your Jetta and let it cool down for about 20 minutes. Confirm that you have adjusted the brakes appropriately; with your ABS have its needed parameters set. Ensure that the pads are correctly bed into the rotor surface.
