Aside from the fact that the 2011 Audi A5 2.0T now has automatic transmission, the lineup for these cars have not changed much.

The pricing and size for the A5 stands in the middle of midsize Audi A6 and the Compacts Audi A4. The 2.0T and high-performance S5 are available in coupe and convertible body styles. The midline 3.2 coupe, however, is no longer available.

While the 2.0T Cabriolet can have either the front-wheel drive or Audi Quattro’s all-wheel drive system, the 2.0T coupe and the S5 models have the AWD only.

The 2.0T runs on a 211 hp 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine, while the Cabriolet runs on a 33 hp 3.0 liter V6. As for the S5 models, they still have the 354 hp 4.2 liter V8.

In terms of transmissions, the front drive 2.0T Cabriolet has CVT, the A5 and S5 coupes have a 6 speed automatic, the S5 Cabriolet has a 7 speed automatic, and the AWD 2.0T has now has an 8 speed automatic. The 2.0T and S5 coupes can also come with a 6 speed manual.

The safety features include the following: traction control, ABS, antiskid systems, front-side airbags, and curtain-side airbags.

Antilock brake system or ABS is a safety feature that keeps the driver from losing control of the vehicle because the wheels have been locked by the brakes. The system will detect that the wheel has been locked and will relieve it of any pressure so that it can start revolving again.

Antiskid systems, as the name suggests, is a safety feature designed to regulate any grip loss or skidding. When skidding occurs, the brakes are automatically applied so that the car doesn’t lose its direction.

Traction control maintains the vehicle’s good traction. Traction is needed to maintain your vehicle’s grip when the brakes are applied or when the car turns or accelerates. Without grip your vehicle can skid, which may cause accidents.

Of course, airbags protect the passengers inside the vehicle. They serve as a cushion so that the passengers don’t get hurt. The Audi A5 has airbags for both the front side and curtain sides of the car.

Blind-spot alert, an up level audio system, and a navigation system are optional. The blind spot alert feature is what alerts the driver of any existing obstacles in the car’s path that can’t be seen in his or her normal line of sight or the blind spot. The navigation system helps the driver plan his or her trips better by giving road, traffic, and location information. And of course, a level up audio system means better sound experience inside the car.

Another optional feature is the Audi Drive Select, which allows customization of power steering and suspension.
