Mercedes Benz Biome

This car is the most advanced, greenest and the most futuristic car anywhere ever. Except it isn’t!

You see, this is a design study for Los Angeles Design Challenge but the idea behind it is spectacular. The seeds that the body of this car is made form are grown in a nursery, it omits Oxygen as the only emission, and at the end of its lifecycle it will be turned into compost.

The car is powered by BioNectar4534, which instead of a regular tank, is stored in the BioFibre material of the chassis, interior, and wheels.

The body is made of Bio Fiber. That too is derived from BioNectar4534, grown from proprietary DNA in the Mercedes-Benz nursery, where it collects energy from the sun and stores it in a liquid chemical bond. It is lighter than metal or plastic, yet more robust than steel.

“As the inventor of the motor car, we wanted to illustrate the vision of the perfect vehicle of the future, which is created and functions in complete symbiosis with nature. The Mercedes-Benz BIOME is a natural technology hybrid, and forms part of our earth’s ecosystem. It grows and thrives like the leaves on a tree” according to Hubert Lee, Head of the Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design Studios in Carlsbad.
