Hyundai Veloster Gets Five-Star Safety Rating

Hyundai’s new Veloster is an innovative little car. It’s the first with three of four doors, we’re not really sure, and a coupe with sport credential and practicality of a hatchback.

Now it also proves to be the safest in its class. The Hyundai Veloster has been awarded the maximum five-star safety rating by independent vehicle assessment organisation, Euro NCAP.  The results of the rigorous test process include class-best scores for the 1+2 door sports coupe.

The Veloster achieved a rating of 96% in the ‘adult occupant’ category, registering maximum points in the side barrier test and more severe side pole test.  In the ‘child occupant’ category, the Veloster attained a score of 89%.  The electronic stability program and seatbelt reminder systems contributed to the car’s score of 71% in the ‘safety assist’ category.

Hyundai press release:

The Veloster is the sixth consecutive Hyundai model to achieve the maximum five-star score in the Euro NCAP safety program.  The all-new i40 is the most recent car before Veloster to be awarded the top rating.

Allan Rushforth, Senior Vice President and COO of Hyundai Motor Europe, commented, “The five-star rating for Veloster further demonstrates our commitment to the highest levels of safety for Hyundai customers.  Veloster is attracting a new audience to the Hyundai brand, combining practicality and ‘fluidic’ design in a unique 1+2 door package.  Recognition of its class-leading safety performance will further add to its appeal.”

Every Veloster sold across in Europe comes with Five Year Triple Care.  This ultimate customer care package provides European consumers with the ultimate peace of mind, comprising of a five-year unlimited warranty, five years’ roadside assistance, and five years’ vehicle health checks.
