New Chevrolet Aveo Unveiled

This is the new generation of Chevrolet Aveo hatchback for 2011, which will make its debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show.

If it looks familiar to you, that’s becasue you’ve seen it a a concept at 2010 Geneva Motor Show and mercifully they have not changed it much in transformation from concept to an actual production model.

The 2011 Aveo has most of the amazing features of the concept version which is great considering it’s supposed to be an affordable hatchback. This has been designed to sell in Europe, so it has European standards. For example, it comes with a new diesel engine which is a first.

In fact the engine lineup for this car includes a 1.2 litre version (at 86 hp) and a 1.4 litre unit (100 hp) petrol units and a 1.3 litre diesel engine (at 75 hp and at 95 hp) featuring Start/Stop technology. It also gets Electronic stability control (ESC) and ABS brakes as standard and has 5 pr 6-speed gearbox options.

Wayne Brannon, president and managing director of Chevrolet Europe says: “It’s just such an exciting time to be at Chevrolet; not only do we have new entries into the MPV and compact classes, in Aveo we have a car which is ready to compete against the best in the small car segment, which is also Europe’s largest segment.”
